PATIO INSTALLATION PROCESS:

   We will excavate the new patio footprint to a depth of approximately 8 inches. After excavation, the subgrade will be properly compacted and prepared for the installation of the open-graded base system.
   A geotextile filter fabric will be installed over the prepared subgrade, followed by approximately 6 inches of clean ¾-inch #57 crushed stone. The stone will be installed and compacted in appropriate lifts to create a stable, well-draining base.
   Next, we will install approximately 1 inch of clean #8 crushed stone as the bedding layer. This material will be properly screeded to provide a consistent, level surface for the pavers.
   This open-graded base system is designed to promote positive drainage and minimize the potential for future issues such as settling and heaving caused by seasonal freeze/thaw cycles.
   The pavers will then be installed over the prepared bedding layer and precisely cut where necessary to properly fit against the designated border and surrounding areas. The finished patio will be installed with approximately a 1% slope away from the house, which equates to approximately 1 inch of fall for every 10 feet.
   A concrete edge-restraint product will be installed along the perimeter of the patio to lock the pavers in place and help prevent horizontal movement. This fiber-reinforced cement-based product is designed to accommodate normal expansion and contraction associated with seasonal weather changes.
   Once the pavers are installed, a plate compactor equipped with a protective pad will be used over the entire patio surface to provide final compaction and help ensure a smooth, uniform finished surface.
   Polymeric sand will then be swept into the joints between the pavers while the surface is completely dry. After excess sand has been removed from the paver surface, the patio will be carefully misted with water several times to activate the polymers within the sand. Once cured, the polymeric sand will harden within the joints, helping stabilize the pavers, reduce water infiltration through the joints, and inhibit weed growth.
   Finally, our team will thoroughly clean the jobsite, including the removal of leftover materials, trash, and construction debris. We will also restore areas affected by the construction process by applying topsoil, grass seed, and straw around the perimeter of the patio and in other disturbed areas as needed.
